Disclaimer: By a Young American, I mean 18 years old.
I was watching "How I Met Your Mother", and after seeing the clip from that episode below, I got a thought.
America is on one big conference call. While America is going through one of the toughest times in history, all we are doing is complaining. Our President is trying everything to save it, and all people do is complain. They say he is being "socialist". While watching "Real Time With Bill Maher", I saw a chart that showed how much nationalization there is in America. The answer is 0.21% of all enterprise in America. That mean Free Enterprise still has hold of 99.79% of American commerce. That's very "socialist". However, that is not my point.
My point is that he has plans to save major companies, reform health care, and end the war. And what is the best that we as a people can do? Complain. "Oh, that is taking away from Free Enterprise." Or, "No, I don't want the governement to decide on my health." And lastly, "We haven't finished the job in Iraq." Let me answer these quick. First, look at the figure given above. Second, his plan provides funding, not advice. Lastly, the job is done. Saddam is gone, and the people of Iraq now have a democratic election process.
In the end, America is in procrastination mode. All we say is that want these problems fixed, but all we do is complain that it is too hard when we get the chance. That is why in the next few months, I will set up a charity to help in these crises. Your donations will help rally support for these issues, so that we can put them behind us.
Thanks for stopping by.
