Since I've Been Gone - 7/2/09

First, I would like to say an early Happy 4th of July. I've been unavailable the past two weeks, and their was a lot of stuff that happened. What I am going to do is list these events and right my opinions about them. (Disclaimer: The following opinions are only of those of the author, and may not fully reflect the entire writing staff)

  • US soccer team pulls off miracle 3-0 victory against Egypt advance to the Confederation Cup semis (Still comprehending...)
  • US soccer team beats #1 Spain 2-0 in Confederation Cup Semis (Wow! Who saw this coming?)
  • South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford admits to having an affair with an Argentinian women after disappearing and telling his office he was hiking on the Appalachian Trail. (More Governor scandal)
  • Farrah Fawcett is dead (Unfortunately, she was in my dad's time)
  • Michael Jackson is dead (Every child on Earth is now going, "Thank God!")
  • US soccer team blows 2-0 halftime lead to Brazil and lose 3-2 in Confederation Cup Final (It broke my heart. I felt that like that finally, the US found one more sport it was good at, but I was wrong.)
  • Billy Mays is dead (Should I shout it in his honor?)
  • Franken, Senator Franken (Since Minnesota is my 2nd home [I live in Nevada, but my dad and half of my family lives in Minnesota], I am extremely happy. Magic Number 60.)
  • Personal one: My 1 month old 2nd cousin once removed gets Swine Flu (Call the CDC.)
  • More Iranian protesters (At least in Minnesota, Recounts are much more civil.)
I may have missed the live coverage, but I squeezed it in. Plus, no news site will tell you how they feel about the issue. Bye-Bye.
